ILC has extensive experience in the mining sector in Armenia, and was awarded the title of Mining Law Firm of the Year in 2011 by Financial Monthly magazine.
Having advised some of the largest mining companies in Armenia, such as Newmont Mining Corporation, Dundee Precious Metals Inc., Deno Gold Mining Company, RAK Minerals and Metals Investment, and GeoProMining Gold, we have considered every aspect of mining operations, ranging from licensing, contracts and royalty calculations, to land use and environmental issues.
ILC was also the law firm in Armenia involved in the preparation of the privatization material for the sale of the Electricity Distribution Companies (EDC), including the Share Purchase, the License and the Tariff Agreements. As legal advisors to the Armenian Government, we also reviewed the Armenian legislative framework relevant to the privatization of EDCs. Thereafter, we recommended changes and drafted amendments to the existing legislation.
Subsequent to the privatization of the power grid, we were retained by Midland Resources Holding Limited to assist them in addressing numerous legal issues they faced as the new owners of a privatized entity, ranging from corporate governance “house cleaning” to labor-related consultation.
We have been involved in every facet of the mining and energy sectors in Armenia, and we put our experience to work for each and every one of our clients.
